TURNING NUMBERS INTO NO DRAMA :

How do you make something as intimidating as invoicing feel effortless? BILY’s identity needed to balance two worlds: the professionalism of finance and the simplicity of consumer apps. The challenge was designing a system that looked credible enough for business, but friendly enough that users wouldn’t dread opening the app.

FROM SKETCHES TO SIMPLICITY :

Moodboards: Pulled inspiration from fintech apps and modern SaaS brands, aiming for a balance of structure, simplicity, and accessibility.

Sketches: Explored unique shapes and forms around clarity and flow, experimenting with how a single lowercase “b” could become both iconic and approachable.

Refinement: Developed the “b” into a distinct, custom-styled logo and paired it with bespoke typography, creating a wordmark that feels modern, professional, and unmistakably BILY.

Applications: Extended the system into invoice templates, app previews, and digital campaigns, ensuring the identity works seamlessly across product and marketing touchpoints.

CLARITY BY DESIGN :

I started by researching fintech trends and mapping out what worked and what didn’t, in the space. Clean typography, a bold green colour palette, and an icon system that reinforces clarity became the foundation. The final logo is sharp and minimal, reflecting trust and reliability, while the brand’s visual language keeps things fresh and human.

THE OUTCOME :

The new BILY identity makes invoicing feel less like a chore and more like a streamlined, professional experience. It’s tech-forward yet approachable, designed to build confidence with users while scaling across every touchpoint, from the app icon to invoices themselves.
